LGBTIQ+ History in Luxembourg

LGBTIQ+ History in Luxembourg

Luxembourg Pride 2022 / Exhibition

In the context of the project „Queert Archiv Lëtzebuerg“ by Rosa Lëtzebuerg asbl, which deals with the documentation and research of LGBTIQ+ history in Luxembourg, the idea arose to evaluate the collected archival documents and findings and to make them accessible to a larger public in the form of an exhibition.

Among other things, the preparatory work within the scope of the Rosa Lëtzebuerg exhibition „25 Joer Homosexualitéit“ from 2006 will be used, as well as documents from the 25-year history of the Rosa Lëtzebuerg association and other realia made available by members of the local community.

The exhibition „LGBTIQ+ History in Luxembourg“ will for the first time provide insights into the realities of life of people who have been ignored by historiography. The exhibition is not only aimed at members of the community, but also at school classes and interested people outside the LGBTIQ+ community.

Parts of this research have been incorporated into this exhibition in close cooperation with the Musée National de la Résistance et des Droits Humains.
