When: Saturday, 10 July 2021, 14:00-19:00
Where: Wicki Beach, Esch-sur-Alzette
After a week with different events such as our commemorative ceremony for victims of homophobia and transphobia, the Queer film nights, a political speech and the exposition in the Theater of Esch, the second weekend (Saturday & Sunday) in July traditionally marks the Street Fest, the highlight and also the final of the Luxembourg Pride Week.
After we had to completely cancel the street festival in 2020 and replace it with an online Pride, there can also be no street festival in the usual form in 2021 after more than a year of pandemic and sometimes really drastic restrictions.
But we have come up with an alternative that in part actually allows us to have a live audience. This year, the street festival will therefore be replaced by a Pride Show: there will be a traditional stage programm for the most part, but it will also contain some new elements.
The Pride Show will be in front of a live audience of up to 300 people, Corona compliant of course. The Pride Show will also be livestreamed on the internet.
In order to comply with the strict regulations, we have therefore chosen a somewhat special location: Wicki Beach!
As it is required to reserve seats at events, we ask you to reserve your seat in advance for a fee of 15€. But don’t worry: you will be refunded the amount as a beverage voucher. Of course, you are also welcome to donate this amount.
So look forward to a special Pride feeling and enjoy our programm in from your sun chair in the sand.
So-called public viewings will be a completely new feature. Here, individual moderations and performances will also take place, which will be integrated into the live stream and thus into the Pride Show. In this way, we want to give as many people as possible a Pride feeling and, with the help of the technical means, offer a great show.
