PANEL DISCUSSION: „Can you be as queer as you want in Luxembourg?“

When: Thursday, 6 July 2023
Start: 18.00
Where: Rainbow Center, Luxembourg City

Currently ranked number 7 in ILGA-Europe’s Country Ranking, Luxembourg is at least on paper among the best countries in Europe for LGBTIQ+ people to live in as far as laws and policies are concerned. However, the Grand-Duchy has dropped a whole 4 places compared to it’s ranking in 2021, due to legislative stagnation and lack of political initiative. Furthermore, laws – however LGBTIQ+-friendly they may be – seem to take a very long time to make it to the heart of the people and there is still some reluctance if not outright homophobia, biphobia and transphobia on the streets. So how queer can you be on the streets of the Grand-Duchy?

To answer this question, we have invited both private individuals from the community as well as professionals in the LGBTIQ+-field to discuss and exchange on the realities of queer existence in Luxembourg.

This first round table discussion will take place on July 6th from 6pm to 8 pm in the Rainbow Center.
