EXHIBITION: „Illustrating queer joy“

Luxembourg Pride 2023 / Exhibition

For its very first Luxembourg Pride Week, the Rainbow Center is happy to host three young talented non-binary illustrators from Luxembourg. The exhibition puts the spotlight on illustration: an oft-overlooked art form. The three exhibiting artist identify as queer and part of the LGBTIQ+ community. Their work explores themes related to gender, identity and queer experiences. The Rainbow Center hopes to bring visibility and recognition to their art work in mainstream circles.

Their artwork is irreverent and loud, heartwarming and heartbreaking at times. In an increasingly misogynistic and queer-phobic world it stands as a color- and powerful testimony to the richness of queer existence, recognizing queer joy as an open act of defiance against all forms of societal expectations and oppression.

The exhibition can be viewed from June 29th until August 1st during the opening hours of the Rainbow Center, located in the heart of Luxembourg City.

When: 29 June – 1 August 2023
Where: Rainbow Center, 19 rue St. Esprit, Luxembourg City
